It was a long, gray winters day in Amsterdam today. But the exciting Nein Records sent us something that lifted our spirits. We got an exclusive preview on Pin Up Club's new EP, and my, what a treat. The 2 original tracks and 4 remixes (all good!) were on repeat all day.
Josef, our long haired man from Delft (now Amsterdam based) has been exploring the darker and deeper sides in disco and we think he has found his calling.
It's hard to pick a favorite among the 2 originals. 'Walk the walk', the opener, slowly builds up to a piece of warm melodic chug. There's a great balance between the more abstract mesmerizing synthlines and the warm soulful groove, which makes it wonderful to listen to over and over again.
'Talk the talk' is a weapon, suitable for that peak time partying. It has suspense all over it, and it delivers with a big pounding lead that stays interesting till the end.
We would be more then happy with just that for one day. But then there's remixes... By label boss Tronik youth, Squarewave (wow!), Gemini Brothers and our own Auxiliary tha Masterfader.
All the guys involved in this one were clearly inspired. Keep your eyes on this blog because I'm pretty sure we'll do a post about Aux remix soon (we already call it a Dutch Disco love baby), he has outdone himself.
We don't hate to say we told you so: there's exciting new music coming from the lowlands. Pin up club surely puts himself on the map with this release.
Out on beatport, Juno and iTunes on January 5th. Needless to say: Dutch Disco approved.
