Yes it's in dutch. So what. It's a blog dedicated to dutch disco isn't it. The original of Eefje de Visser is already really lovely, but what hero Falco made out of it is spectacular. Giving new dimensions to detuned funked up synths. So many layers. Dreamy but in the face. Exciting till the end. This is the avant garde disco.

And that's why we thought it would be good to share this. Cause we think january 2017 can use a bit of goodness.

This weeks' Midweek Mixtape is not so much a tape, but something really special: a live set & broadcast on a modular synthesizer by Colin Benders (aka Kyteman). 4 hours of brilliant live synth noodling, which moves from house, techno & electro to other electronic sonic mayhem. Much love for this man & his monster synth.  

Rimini: the ancient city in northern Italy has a history with italo disco, mainly because of the classic Ric Fellini song. It was also the inspiration for dutch disco duo Rimini Rimmers from Nijmegen, which by itself could be regarded as the italo disco capital of the Netherlands. 

The Oppio Mane EP is their first release after a string of edits and remixes and we LOVE it. Classic italo sounds, arpeggio basses, big snare & toms, simply a dance floor killer! Grab a bottle of Barolo (at least 5 years old) and enjoy the sound of Italy coming from the oldest city in the Netherlands. Remixes by Cratebug. David Vunk and Luca dell'Orso, who also happens to come from Nijmegen.

Aux (the artist formerly known as Auxiliary) is a special guy.

His friends and colleagues know him as a walking encyclopedia and absolute authority on music ranging from pop, disco, hip hop and even metal (Aux was the first person ever to wear a Metallica t-shirt).

So leave it up to Aux to dig up a minor international dance succes like 'baby doll' from his collection, strip it down to it's instrumental essence and rework it into a synth lovers feast.

​It's 2017 and there are really no more fetishes that one needs to be ashamed of. The boys from Pin Up Club always had a big thing for redheads with cold sores and we applaud them for coming out. 

The real treasure is on the inside of the strangely erotic 12" sleave. Three brilliant tracks, of which we love 'Friends of the Vortex' most. It's a space acid chugger custommade for the coool kids after party.
